"Thirsty for BLOOD" wasn't pleasant to read.

it is, aside from the character designs
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.

Yeah, Hawkman's armor is a tad on the "busy" side but major kudos to Joe Bennett for the painstaking detail he puts into this. There are some beautiful panels in this issue which helps distract from some of the weaker dialogue. This entire issue is almost non-stop action, too. From the hints they have dropped villains are going to start popping out of the woodwork to get their hands on the Nth Metal now.

Wait you are actually reading this? Why? Aside from the great artwork by Bennet there's nothing to recommend this at all!

It appears that he's had his arm removed and then reattached his hand directly to the shoulder.

It started to get better while Hawkman was fighting the undead. Not a fan of Liefeld's writing but there is another Co-Writer and I am a Bennett fan so I wanted to see how this would shake out.

It so bizarre. After COIE, it took DC something like, what, 14 years to fix the Hawkman damage? And, in my opinion, Johns nailed it. Now that work is undone in a book that I will never pick up based on Liefeld alone? Argggh...

Love this character, so Im going to be biased anyway.
Im pleased that Rob Liedfied as taken over this title, it didn't have the best of starts, but now Im hopefu that things will get better. Just seen the preview oif issue # 10, and Im liking the art work but then again it is done by veteran Hawkman artist Joe Bennett................
