Is Jean Grey Returning ? Here We Go Again !

Postby IvCNuB4 » Mon Jul 02, 2012 12:38 pm

Entertainment Weekly has what they call an "exclusive" blurb claiming that Jean Grey will have a "presence" in the Marvel Universe post-AVX. Supporting this is a piece of Joe Quesada promo art featuring Jean looking very "Year One". They promise more details tomorrow.

Yes, this is Jean Grey — as in, the Jean Grey who’s been absent from Marvel comics ever since dying for a second time back in the mid-00s. And yes, she is modeling her vintage blue-and-yellow X-Men outfit from her Marvel Girl days. Does this mean that the fan-favorite character is finally returning? We can only confirm that her presence in the Marvel universe will not be imaginary. This will not be part of the Ultimate line-up. She will not be a zombie hologram, like Shard on X-Factor.

She shouldn't have been killed to begin with.

Jean Grey, the first comic book death yo-yo.

She's dead. She's not dead. She's dead again. She's not dead again. She's dead yet again. She's not dead yet again. She's  dead yet again. She's  not dead yet again.

She goes and comes worse than either a dog at the back door.
She goes and comes worse than a hooker's panties being on or off.
She makes Bucky look lazy.

The same people who think that Hank Pym is a wife beater.

I smell a reboot, Rebirth, relaunch, revolution, something is going to change in the Marvel Universe come October for sure. May not be a permanent change but change is a coming whether we like it or not.

If the changes stay at the same quality of writing or better than what they are at the moment I am cool with that. If we get the Marvel version of DCnU, then yeah my comic reading will decline severely. I don't even think it will be that extreme, pardon the pun, but maybe something akin to when all the X-Titles changed for awhile because of AoA or a better version of Heroes Reborn.
