Maybe now that he has a hammer and two swords Thor is going to be an extreme juggler?

After Thor started beating kids, Wolverine pointed out it was more effective just to stab them and be done with it.

Promising to impact all major Marvel characters, "Marvel NOW!" will start in October with the debut of "Uncanny Avengers" #1, and continue until February of 2013 -- launching one or more new titles every week. That's a minimum of about 20+ new titles. There will be both relaunches of existing titles and the return of old favorites we haven't seen in a good long while. Some characters will get new costumes, weapons and identities, and even the covers themselves will get a design makeover. The key words here are "shake-up," "change" and "new" -- but don't call it a "reboot." Marvel insists that this is not an abandoning of their rich past -- but rather making it more accessible to as many readers as possible.

It also heavily incorporates digital strategies -- dubbed by Marvel "ReEvolution" -- including ReEvolutionary AR cover recaps on every issue #1 to get new readers up to speed, and codes to get free digital copies of each issue.

Here's the rundown of what major new titles we know of so far:

Uncanny Avengers #1 (October)
by Rick Remender & John Cassaday

From the "ashes" of "Avengers VS X-Men" the two teams come together for the first time to fight a new deadly foe -- the Red Skull, who wants to "x-out" the mutant race! Expect Captain America and Wolverine to be members, as well as a few "wild card" surprises!

All New X-Men #1 (November)
by Brian Michael Bendis & Stuart Immonen

Everything old is new again...after the original five X-Men suddenly reappear in the present! How do they get to the current time-period? What do they think about the events of Avengers VS X-Men? All I know is -- this definitely means the return of Jean Grey!

Avengers #1 (December)
by Jonathan Hickman & Jerome Opena

Details are sketchy so far on this relaunch, other than that the team lineup promises to be waaay different, and their focus will be more on threats to the universe, rather than just Earth. Can we expect some Thanos action here?

I really dislike the trend of making the characters look more like their movie counterparts.

Making Cap look like movie Cap just ends up making him look like Ultimate Cap.

I like movie Cap and I like Ultimate Cap. I like all the changes honestly. Maybe Cyclips is a bit dumb.

I can get behind this all actually as the creative teams sound like they can deliver some really good stories. I don't think any of the redesigns look anywhere near as bad as the DCnU designs. Definitely excited about at least checking them out come October, I am sure there will be tons of actual images and info in a few weeks at ComicCon that will make me even more excited.

This looks absolutely retarded.

Bad enough they turned the Avengers into a generic superhero army, now they're adding the X-Men to the mix too. Why even have separate teams and books anymore? It's all just the "Marvel Universe" anymore and, to me, that just sucks.

I'll give this a look but it looks like The Odinson will only be buying back issues in a couple months.

People once complained that X-Men weren't being used outside the x-books to clear some space in the giant x-roster... We finally have some new faces in the Avengers and it's a bad thing?

I never complained about that so, yes, it is a bad thing to me.

I like unique perspectives and differant kinds of stories in the Marvel setting but all we're going to get soon is a bunch of homogenized crap.
