As I said before, Bendis is not my favorite writer but I do agree that even at his worst he can write better stories than Didio, so therefore I retract my prior statement. I, as well as my creator Zechs will never disagree on with this assesment that anyone-Even that aforementioned chimp-could write better than Didio.

Marvel has been awesome under Quesada. Sure, he's had some misfires and boneheaded moves.. I would say just about any E-i-C from either company has. But both creatively, and financially, he turned Marvel around - big time.
While it's (imo) the wrong direction, spits on all that has happened before and has 'destroyed the line" - even I agree that his tenure has been a success (just not for me).

C'mon

Iron Fist
Daredevil
Cosmic Marvel

I think at least those three properties saw an awesome resurgence that didn't spit on any of the past continuity. I'd argue more too, but those 3 without a doubt seem to have faired very well.

One question though, how and why did Marvel get sold to Disney though? Not an anti-Quesada jab but if Marvel was doing so well, why did they get sold to it? Can anyone here explain why this happened?

The thing about Quesada is that I like him more as an artist than anything else and I have to give him credit for co-creating one of my favorite characters, namely the Jean Paul Valley Azrael. I just wish he would move past his anti-marriage vendetta with certain characters at Marvel and turning established characters into douchebags like Wanda, Tony, Matt, Scott and even Xavier. That's why I could personally see him running DC instead of Didio at this moment as he would do a way better job of things.

But wasn't Marvel doing fine enough already with all of that before Disney? I mean with all the movies, tv shows and videogames that they already had before that, why exactly would they need Disney?

...you do know how these things work right?

Disney made a bid with the majority share holders of Marvel, they accepted that bid.

It's not like anyone at Marvel was waving a flag screaming buy us.

Because Disney is one of the biggest forces in media, and dwarfs anything Marvel could do. It opened doors in Hollywood (more freedom with movies, cartoons, etc.) and gave Disney a library of new characters to work with.

Just because you're doing fine doesn't mean turning down $4 BILLION is a good idea.

And Marvel's movie division was still acting on an initial loan they took out to finance their first five movies.

IIRC, it was something like $550 Million that was supposed to be used for up to five movies, which has since obviously been used up on the first few movies' budgets and marketing.

Marvel was just a comic book company - not a media conglomerate. They didn't have Warner Bros. backing like DC in other entertainment fields. The Disney move was a good one.

I hope so as I had mixed feelings about this at first. As long as Disney doesn't interfere in Marvel's business more than they have to then it's all good.

Of course I do, bro. I just never fully understood how that deal went down 3 years ago. As long as Disney doesn't interfere too much in Marvel's business and let's them do their thing, then things should do good. I just don't want to see Marvel as a company become anybody's bitch.

I vote we move this discussion to another thread as discussing this here will just ruin this for everyone else that may not have read this yet this week.
