Tim Marchman was the guy who wrote the not-review of Leaping Tall Buildings for the Wall Street Journal. Now he's going after DC and Before Watchmen in this interview with Len Wein.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2 ... eturn.html

It's another one of those pontificating posts framed by an interview (Len Wein gets quoted like three times) but it's still a fun read.

I think it's telling that Len Wein is on a leash held by some corporate minder "Pam" the whole time.

Len's an old doggie but he still likes his cookies, doesn't he?

The worst part is that corporate minder reached out to Marchman about doing the interview.

Seriously. The only other place I've ever heard of this "minder" thing going on is NORTH KOREA. So, if "unknowable, oppressive regime" is what Warners is trying to evoke, then Mission Accomplished. :P

This Tim Marchman guy seems like a douche. I started reading it, but I don't care about his personal rant.

They probably don't want another smarmy-assed comment like the one from JMS, which pulled back the curtain a bit on the cynical opportunism of DC and their people involved.

I am assuming the Pam who knows better than comics veteran Len Wein about the business and also what he can or can't say about it is one Pam Mullin, publicity manager at DC. She used to promote a lot of independent comics creators before she got the job interrupting people during interviews and enforcing "embargoes" on information.

Wicked read, thanks for posting. Pam actually made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

I don't miss DC much at all, now if only I could get that fucking \S/ tattoo off my forehead. :smt013
