Again, I will say that it is a Star Trek game that is a third person shooter. It would be like making a making a game based on the Fast and the Furious franchise, and designing it as a Street Fighter type of game.

We'll see. I like action in Trek (eg. space battles), but for some reason Chris Pine's description of the upcoming movie's effects as "bigger and brighter, faster and louder " makes me a tiny bit worried.

He's basically telling you what you already knew: You're getting another volume of "the Star Wars version of Star Trek."

There is no statistically significant difference between this and the typical Rick James music video.

Star Trek to Return to TV?

Ever since 2009's Star Trek made a splash on the big screen, there's been vague talk about a possible return for Star Trek to the realm of TV. And now Roberto Orci, who is a writer-producer on the rebooted film series, is indicating that a TV show is slowly inching closer to becoming a reality.

"The relevant parties haven’t sat down in a room together, but they have sent messages through intermediaries," says Orci. "So [we're waiting until] after [the 2013 Star Trek sequel] comes out or as it's ramping up and after the powers that be determine whether or not Star Trek is back or not -- one movie doesn’t make a trend. Two movies starts to indicate that there is a trend and it's viable. It will become more real as the year goes on."

Orci also says that if such a show does happen, it would probably be animated and feature the J.J. Abrams rebooted version of the USS Enterprise crew.
