I have been reading Nightwing and no it's not. I wouldn't call it bad. Just not in the same league as any of the others.

The only thing Johns is doing right is Aquaman.

DC is a complete mess outside:

Batman
Batman & Robin
Nightwing
Demon Knights
I, Vampire
Animal Man
Swamp Thing
Wonder Woman

I'd add Flash, JL Dark, Batman Inc., Earth 2, and World's Finest to your list, but yeah...that's pretty much hitting the nail on the head.

You also think Slott's Spider-Man is one of the best comics in the industry, so...

Nightwing is great stuff.

Fuck - yeah. I always forget Flash. That's a fucking surprise. Never would've expected it out of Manapul, but this is up there with Waid and early Johns for me.

Also love Batman, Inc. and the current run of JL Dark under Lemire. But it stunk under Milligan.

I've only read the first ish of Earth 2, and none of the other, so I have to check those out more before I can say anything.

Hawkman #0 considers Rob Liefeld to be an outdated hack. With a space opera.

Heh. The funny thing is, the guys from the 90's that stayed around as regulars in the 2000's seemed to reinvent their styles to fit into this new era. Like Salvador Larocca, Deodato, Butch Guice and a lot more I can't remember at this moment.

Then DC went and gave the forgotten ones like Liefeld, Booth and some of their pet writers a massive chunk of their titles and they're still stuck in the past with their stagnant styles.

Now it's liefeld ruining hawkman.

Vertigo announced Gaiman's Sandman Zero book. That's probably bigger than anything the DC side could cook up.

It's only day one, so I'd expect any bigger stuff to come down today or Saturday.

I hope they do something to make Raven interesting.
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.
