Didio explains exactly what's going on with the "Was Tim Drake Robin or not?" question.

Dan Didio maintains a surprisingly active facebook account, in which he allows fans to basically troll, abuse and ask all the annoying fanboy questions they want. Occasionally, he'll get on and answer some of the questions, hoping to sate rage and allow his friends and family members to actually use his wall for purposes other than questioning his ability to run the publishing arm of a major corporation.
Yesterday, we reported that Scott Lobdell had retconned Tim Drake from ever being Robin, despite evidence from his own book that showed the fan-favorite character in a Robin costume. Fans took to Didio's wall and asked a series of passive-aggressive questions about whether this decision was done solely to spite Chuck Dixon or whether it had something to do with his alleged hatred of the character.
Here's Didio's response: "Following Jason Todd's supposed death, Tim became Batman's apprentice, but took the name Red Robin instead of Robin because he did not want to use the name of a fallen hero. Damian, didn't have the same problem."
Didio also responded to criticism about "Wafflegate 2012", the sacking of Stephanie Brown from the digital comic Smallville: Season 11, that while he didn't loathe the character, he just wanted to make sure the comic was done right. The obvious conclusion there is that any comic with Stephanie Brown in it is a comic done wrong.
