Just started rereading the Great Darkness Saga. Man, good stuff. Got the collection for about seven dollars too.

Next up? The LSV arc from the early Baxter issues.

It was revealed once back in Byrne's Fourth World run that Darkseid's appearance was the result of some kind of procedure, and he used to be more human-looking.

There's use defending keeping Levitz on this book. This is a total flop. If he wasn't who he was (the ex-President of the Company), his @$$ would have been off this book months ago. Heck, his @$$ would have been off of it before the Nu52.

Yeah, this title has been treading the plot-waters for a while now.

But the recent Lightle covers have been pretty :D

What they haven't doing is sell comics.

Those are the only things I'm liking about these comics.

I like Lightle, I love his Legion covers in the 80s.

20,000 readers? What's the prediction, 18,000 in a couple of months or it will stabilize in 19,000?

I'd say between 20K and 19K in two months. Have to see what the change in artists does.

I've been gone for months and you are still on about this. :-D

Levitz in himself ain't the problem.

The problem is that the Legion is completely a niche product now. Fuck, COMICS are a niche product now.

If you wanted to perk stuff up a bit you could add the obligatory teen/early 20's member of the Superman family. Or XS (or whatever nu52 approved decendent of Barry Allen that DC deems useable).Or Fuck it, Ms. Martian.

Tie Legion into the main DCU (whatever that is these days) more.

But all the beefing about the direction of the book aside its more likely that DC readers now don't give two craps about any team book that ain't the Justice League.

It was pretty stupid that Levitz ignored the fact that XS remained when the rest of the Archie Legion went back into limbo is proof enough that he's lost it.

And Johns brought "back" a "classic version of the team" (with retcons up the yin-yang) with the purpose of integrating the team more into the Superman mythos. What has Levitz done with it? Squat.

And now with time travel verbodden after Flashpoint, Legion's stuck all by its lonesome, with the exception of Legion Lost. Which has got to on the way to the chopping block sooner of later.

How would you explain the success of The Hypernaturals (pretty much Legion of Super-Heroes in Boom!)?

Yes, sales are not what they used to be, but even keeping that in mind I'd say there is a problem with the current Legion title.
