I watched the new endings, and while they certainly seem like an improvement overall in terms of actually wrapping up the story, they still don't seem to address another complaint about the endings: Your choice doesn't matter.
In the original endings...
...no matter what you do, you get a big glowy light show, the Citadel and mass relays explode, and the Nomrandy ends up stranded.
In the new endings...
...no matter what you do, you get a big glowy light show, the Citadel and mass relays are damaged, but eventually repaired, and the Normandy crashes but is eventually repaired and heads back to civilization.
There are some minor changes regarding
Shepard surviving and the fate of EDI and the Geth, but rather than crafting three truly different endings, you still end up with essentially the same cutscene no matter what you do.
It's an improvement, but it's still less than what Bioware initially promised.
