It was the most ideal ending because everyone in the galaxy is happy. You can say that this means it was evidence of Indoctrination because it's too candy-coated and perfect. But there's no evidence that this was anything other than some theory spawned by Internet hatred.

I don't think it's indoctrination, just a last stab by the Reapers to ensure their survival in a compromise deal.

In a game where all our decision had consequences Destroy showed the true cost of the war as the galaxy was finally free of the Reaper's cycle and left to rebuild on their own accord with a fresh start while moving past the war. Wasn't the ideal ending though as it came off as using an axe when a scalpel was necessary.

The bioware social forums are still full of whiny kids who are claiming people who liked the EC ending are paid PR employees of bioware

While its not perfect, I still find it a serviceable conclusion that at least shows us how everything resolved due to the Crucible firing.

Apparently on the official forums, some people delved into a couple of the Extended Cut files and have discovered evidence of a DLC related to the Leviathan of Dis (For those that loved reading up the backstories of every planet).

The reactions here?

They're a lot more varied towards the end than when I last saw them...but those who hate it REALLY hate it. At one point they grouped up to say the entire thing sucked solely because the "reject" ending is triggered as punishment for shooting the Starkid

I like that this time you only need 3100 EMS to get the best ending btw, was wondering why I got Shepard alive with mine in the mid-3k rangs.

I wrote an article on this last night in a semi sleep like state. I think it's redeemed the ending somewhat for me. More of a 4 out of 10 then the 1 out of 10 it was before.

You mean they finally fixed that? I was putting off downloading the update and playing it until mid-July because I don't have the time to devote to playing multiplayer to restore my EMS to a high enough level for the "Best" Ending. If I don't have to go to all of that trouble, I might download it this evening and give it a go.

The ending being poor was never my biggest issue with ME3 it was pretty much making multiplayer mandatory. Yes it was possible to get the best endings without playing but only if you are a OCD type of player which I never was.

Nice to know they've fixed that.

I actually like the ending you get if you tell the star child to go fuck himself. I mean you really don't get much closure and the achievements don't lock but hey, you find out you win eventually.

When Hackett was talking about sacrifices I got a shot of Legion. But in retrospect I guess that's cus he sacrificed himself to stop the Quarian/Geth war :P

EDI and Legion's names are on the memorial plaque on the Normandy near the end of the cutscene.

I watched the new endings, and while they certainly seem like an improvement overall in terms of actually wrapping up the story, they still don't seem to address another complaint about the endings: Your choice doesn't matter.

In the original endings...
[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
...no matter what you do, you get a big glowy light show, the Citadel and mass relays explode, and the Nomrandy ends up stranded.

In the new endings...
[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
...no matter what you do, you get a big glowy light show, the Citadel and mass relays are damaged, but eventually repaired, and the Normandy crashes but is eventually repaired and heads back to civilization.

There are some minor changes regarding Shepard surviving and the fate of EDI and the Geth, but rather than crafting three truly different endings, you still end up with essentially the same cutscene no matter what you do.

It's an improvement, but it's still less than what Bioware initially promised.

I redid the ending of my first, and so far only playthrough, tonight. I picked the synthesis ending like I did the first time.

It's a better ending than what I got the first time and I was pleased to see that they filled in some of the plot holes. Overall, I'm satisfied, but not totally. I would have liked to see some stuff resolved that still wasn't -- how are the Rakni fitting in post Reaper War as one example. I will say that it took care of most of my problems and I can live with it.

Huh, looks like we're getting Phantom like characters in multiplayer. Cloaking + katana finisher?

The endings turned me off this series so bad that I don't have any desire to download a patch and watch new endings. The ship is sailed.
