I don't think it was since Hans Zimmer is the composer for Man of Steel and he didn't compose the score for LOTR. It just sounds kinda like it.

Me too, I get choked up listening to Pa Kent. That's advice we could all live by to some degree. I'm bummed out by Crowe's dialogue and the return of Donner's messiah complex where Jor-El is sending him to save us from ourselves by setting a good example. It's a little too on the nose, and it's hard to take anything that reminds me of Brando-El seriously after Megamind.

Byrne did it best when Jor-El sent him to Earth so Kal-El could be exposed to the humanity that Krypton had abandoned long ago. Humanity saves Kal-El and he returns the favour when he grows up and becomes Superman. But who knows? Maybe Jor-El isn't talking about humanity in general joining Superman in the sun, maybe it's other superheroes? :smt102

I like all the fish boating stuff, reminds me of Hugo Danner in the Caribbean. My only complaint about the visuals was during the flying scene. Just before Superman breaks the sound barrier, he should have raised both his arms in front of him and used his fists to make the last sonic boom. It's more dramatic, and he actually moves so Superman would look alive instead of like a mannequin in free fall shot upside down.

I don't understand why Clark Kent is on The Deadliest Catch.
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.

PhoenixEquinox wrote:I liked this trailer. I thought it established well that this Superman movie is gonna be a departure from the last 5. I miss John Williams but his music is so iconic for the first bunch that they needed something new to distinguish this as a serious reboot. Even though I would like to see more (like Superman actually fighting) I'm happy with this TEASER trailer, and can't wait for the first real trailer and the actual movie itself.

Also I'm biased because Superman is one of my favorite superheroes.

Superman is one of my favorite characters as well but I can no longer be biased when there hasn't been a good Superman movie made in over 2 decades. And I really have not seen or heard anything that makes me think this movie is going to be any different than the previous versions. It's once again another Superman origin story, once again Superman fighting against Zod which we have seen in the movies and on TV (Smallville), so nothing new there either. I had enough emo doubting himself Superman/Clark through 10 seasons of Smallville so I don't need another 2 hour movie showcasing the same thing and from what I have seen and heard about this movie thus far, it looks like thats what we will be getting. I hope I'm wrong but I want the Superman movie to fun and exciting and I am just not getting that feeling about it.

In the theater I went to, the people around me either chucked or groaned.

I think this is the Iron Man teaser. Can't really compare the two movies, but I think this teaser was much more effective.

I thought the teaser was fine for what it was...a teaser. That said, if I was doing the teasing, I'd make the next two progressively more super.

I don't think that was a teaser trailer. Teasers are usually brief.
