Indeed. I thought that there were some really nice acknowledgements that Barry came before, but Wally was the Flash for a younger group of readers than I. I really wouldn't have minded if they brought him back to serve in the mentor role that Jay Garrick had filled, but to shunt Wally aside to put Barry back in the spotlight? No. I don't get it.
Me, either, my friend. I walked around the logic, and I could see them wanting a new Flash because Wally had a wife and kids. I understood that.
But holy hell. I've said it before, but DC's decision-making with regard to the Flash franchise has been horrifying every since the split second somebody said, "Hey! What if we aged Bart Allen to an adult?"
