In lieu of covering the happenings in baseball this week, statnut has given us this in-depth look at one of baseball's greats, Carlos Beltran.

Im surprised he didnt mention when he saw Beltran on Fifth Avenue this weekend. He called me right away with that.

Jeez. baseball is so stat heavy -- somebody can't be a good player unless his stats confirm that, and Carlos Beltran can't get into the HOF because his OPS is low. I bet most sport's guys don't even know what an OPS is -- can you imagine Tony Kornheiser explaining a players' OPS?

Writing about the playoffs would have been easy and boring. Both the Phillies and Dodgers won easy in the first round, nothing interesting there. So I went a different route.
