The best bit was Ralph staying behind to let Ollie get away.

Mine was watching Captain Marvel take down Solomon Grundy, Bizarro, Parasite, and Metallo in like 2 seconds. Ross really knows how to hit some of the thing that us born in the 70's look for in our comics.

See, that's the exact thing that we disagree on, because we've had... discussions about the current state of the Marvel family before, a while ago at Rama. It's all a generational thing. You're a 70's kid, I'm a 90's kid, so naturally our tastes are gonna vary.

I'm not gonna begrudge you liking Justice, the same way I hope you don't begrudge me enjoying Trials...

Quoted for the motherfuckin' and fatherfuckin' truth. Hell, I'll go out on a limb and say it's the best JLA story ever.

Trials? What's Trials?

It never ever happened :-D

Actually I think my love of the Marvels stems more from the fact that I'm from the midwest. The Marvels were so popular during the 50's that I remember finding tons of old issues at garage sales around my neighborhood. Of course the Shazam/Isis Power Hour didn't hurt either :-D

First one from my list that's made it so far.

27. The Question (31 points - 1 first place slot)

Image

I dunno if he was a member of the JL in the comics, but in the JLU cartoon and JL Adventures, he was a member. And in the JLU cartoon he kicked ALL kinds of ass. He kicked ass in the comics too, but yeah. I miss ya Vic, I will admit, I dunno much bout Renee being the new Question but I hope she fills your shoes well.

26. John Stewart (34 points)

Image

Green Lantern number two on the list, good ol'John was a bigtime member of the JLU in the cartoon, and he also kicked all kinds of ass in that show. In the comics though, I kinda dig him as a member of the Corps over a member of the League, but again, thats just my opinion.

25. Captain Marvel (38 points)

Image

At the 25th slot on the list is Captain Marvel aka Captain Whitebread. I will admit, I dunno much bout him. My only knowledge of his is from the early issues of JLI and Kingdom Come. Oh, and that JLU episode where he kicked all kinds of ass aswell. Hmmm. I am sensing a pattern in these posts. Anywho, I don't like his current albino look.

24. Firestorm - Jason Rusch (39 points)

Image

I like this dude. I really do. I am glad he is part of the new JLA. Seriously, him alongside Supermand, Wonder Woman and two GL's? Holy Crap talk bout powerhousing a team.

23. Red Tornado (41 points)

Image

Oh, Reddy I am glad you are on the team. I loved you in Young Justice, and I love you in the League. And he is getting married too. I wonder if they are going to do the token wedding ish where a villain or villains crashes the ceremony.

22. Barry Allen (57 points)

Image

The first of two Flash's to appear on the list, and didn't do as good as his predecessor. I'm indifferent towards Barry, I really haven't read anything to say I like him or not. Now Wally on the other hand, I love. But, this post is about Barry. So, is he going to take Wally's place on the JLA? Or will he join Hal's JL?

And I would have assumed that Ronnie would have been the higher of the two, but in a fight with a GL, the Lantern will always win. The only person who could beat a Lantern would be Batman. With enough... wait for it... prep time.

Firestorm WHIPS a GL. and i mean not even close. last i checked, that green plasma-stuff their rings shoot...non-organic. ergo, ol' Flamehead could turn EVERY. SINGLE. construct or force beam or whatever into flowers, air, water, whatever he wanted. plus, if they're in space, he turns that plasma aura that's protecting said GL into some kind of poisonous gas and done. no more GLs.

Firestorm in a walk.

yep, she was part of Dick's substitute team during Obsidian Age and hung around after that for a while.

i actually kinda liked her.

My first encounter with him was in Indentity Crisis. I actually felt the emotion when he couldn't hold his face together at Sue's funeral. Then, I became a huge fan of him during 52. The nose wiggler makes it to #29 on the list.

after Nightwing (of course), the second of my top 10 to make the list (and first regular Leaguer). i figured Ralph would be higher up...then realized that most of the folks who voted here may have never read an actual issue of JLA where he was a member. probably all JLI (although Ralph was a JLE guy) or Morrison and later.

Gypsy is awesome. her interactions with J'onn in the Detroit days and the first big JLI Despero arc are some of my favorite JLA character interactions ever.

so shut your hole.

So, the five minutes Nightwing was on the team is enough to count him as one of the best? :P
