Video game thread? Why, you say? I say why not?

So, it looks like there will be a super-duper version of the 360 coming out. Here's hoping I can get about $200 for mine on a trade-in (I'm a whore for stuff like HDMI).

I still need to pick a 360 up, but it's a little further off in the future. I've already got a gaming wishlist for it, though.

Mostly Capcom games, but I may need a bigger and better TV to enjoy them.

I heard you talking about this on Rama, Scantron. Sounds very interesting.

I don't care what anyone syas, the PS3 controller is pretty bad, and losing exclusives means that companies are not confident in your hardware and feel they can make money with someone else.

This is Wii is so strong. Every game is basically an exclusive due to the unique control system.

i was gonna get a PS3 this summer, but now that DMC4 will be on Xbox and word has it that MGS:4 may be as well, well im not gonna pay 500-600 $$$ for a paper weight...

I got my 360 just two months ago and it broke already! One day I went to turn it on and got the "dreaded three red lights of doom." Luckily, Microsoft is fixing it for free, but unluckily, I've been without a machine I paid 400 dollars for plus 200 for accessories only two months ago for two weeks now. I do have to admit though, when you can actually play it, the 360 rules. I have no interest in the super x-box, since I don't even have a HD TV yet, and it's annoying enough to try to read the words on the screen with my crappy tv (even though it is big, the words are so small and blurry). Does anyone with HD tv have this problem, or is it just a regular TV thing?

Let me guess, you are either playing Dead Rising or Lost Planet? Those games are notorious for small text when playing in standard def.

Does your TV have component inputs and/or a 16:9 (widescreen) option? I'd recommend using those to try and get as much quality out of it as you can.

But really, try springing for an HDTV (you can get a decent 30" LCD for about $500 if you look). It makes all the difference.

I also had this problem with Madden when I was playing on a normal tv. It has no problems on HD.

So when is Blue Dragon supposed to be coming for 360? And when is that TNA game coming out?

Blue Dragon is out in Japan (came out at the end of last year) and should be stateside sometime in the 3rd quarter of this year.

I believe TNA isn't scheduled to come out until sometime in 2008.

A 30 inch HD would be smaller than my regular TV (42 inches). Would it still be better? I have no problem watching regular TV, the only time I notice a lack in picture quality now is when playing these HD videogames. Oh and my X-Box should be back by monday, thank god.

I'm not sure about that, my friend. I think the problem is that some of these games are made to be widescreen now and when the aspect ratio goes to a normal screen, the wording can get blurry.
