Yup, it's true.

For any of you that may not have seen me posting a lot lately, maybe this will explain it. I am marrying my girlfriend of over 4 years, Shiela!!!

She's awesome, we're happy, what more could I want? There's actually a picture of her in my profile if any of you ever bothered to check that.:p

Yes, I know, I don't deserve her.:D

Ah, it's just a civil wedding. Shie's from the Philippines so we need to do this for legal purposes. A more elaborate ceremony will have to take place in the future.:) Also, we don't have the money to do a big ceremony yet.

Congrats!

Nothing wrong with a civil wedding. My wife and I got married by a JoP and it was the best day ever. You need witnesses either way and that means that your best man is whoever you choose to be your witness and the maid of honor is whoever SHE chooses.

That means that our maid of honor was my wife's youngest brother. :D

Congrats again! Have a great day!

I'm so happy for both of you. My big sister couldn't have found a better match to her. :) Too bad I couldn't attend the wedding

Thanks for all the wishes, guys!

The ceremony was performed by the mayor. He did a traditional ceremony and gave a little blessing at the end. Everything went smoothly, the moms cried, it was all good.

Now I really have to ink that strip for next week.:)

Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. Congratulations!

Weddings are expensive, most people spend like 25000 dollars on them. That's why Amy and I are waiting until we have more money, even though we live together with child. Your way works too though, have a big celebration later on.

I can't even remember what my wedding cost, but it was well under $500. Let's see... marriage license was... $75? JoP was $250... parent took care of the reception which was hamburgers, brats, and stuff that usually goes with that. I think there was a keg which was funny because neither my wife nor I drink (which is just as well because I got diabetes a year or two later and you aren't supposed to drink at ALL if you've got that), but I've got Irish relatives on one side and German relatives on the other, so beer is pretty mandatory.

All in all, it was short, simple, and awesome. My brother had a big wedding and it was nothing but hassle. It had it's moments, but most people that went to both kinda prefered mine. I know I did. :)

I've suggested a similar style wedding, but the woman won't go for it. She wants a big party. however, she did agree to my terms of having a costume wedding on Halloween, so at least I've got that.
