Prozac Man's Pharmacy

Postby prozacman » Thu Apr 17, 2008 2:29 am

Hi to all that know me from posting on newsarama! For those that don't I'm Prozac Man. I used to do CG animation and modeling and I'm starting to get back into it.

I'll post more of my stuff latter, but for now just A little Blud Fan Art ;D

My Pills!!!!

Postby prozacman » Thu Apr 17, 2008 12:15 pm

"Whats the deal with all the pills?" People ask me.

It stared back when I was at the SMFA. I made an animated short called Prozac the Musical http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3POQcRijw0. Some of the people at the school gave me the nick name Prozac Man. Most likely because they forgot my real name, but no one forgets the song in my animation...no matter how much they want to. I liked the name so much that I started to use it as my online identity.

As a joke on some of the message boards I frequent, I stared to make simple CG pills for people. At first it started out simple. Just text stenciled on to the pills with a persons screen name and maybe a happy birthday pill. It started to get out of control when I tried to win a popularity contest poll by bribing the people on the message board with custom CG pills based on their screen name, avatar image, and signature images. Each time I made a pill I tried to out do the last one that I made. Long after the contest was over, I was still getting request for pills. People were even using them in their signatures. Eventually they started to become full blown characters and animated GIFs.

see some of them below!

Holy shit!

I'd seen some of your stuff, but mostly just the few things you would put on the art thread on the Rama.

It's so cool to see the stuff you've been doing! Of course I love the Blud Blood one, but my favorites here have to be the Transformer and that jza one. Great stuff.

I'm modeling in LW right now for a project... though, usually I'm using Maya for everything else. Love the pills!

I have some friends that use both. They like Like LW modeler and rendering, but the say the animation tools and plug-ins for Maya kick ass. I've had to become a truck driver the last few years to pay the bills, but I'm starting to get back into CG and Video again. I'm working on a video for a band. I'll post it up when it's finished.

Fun with mirror effects
Just for fun, I've been trying to duplicate the back lit mirror infinity effect they use to do on pinball machines.
