for years and years he was a loser who got killed by the Foreigner's men.

a retcon to make him Kingsley-someone who no one had thouight of in 15 yrs, doesn't change that.

Marvel dropped the ball on the Hobgoblin and he's ruined.

If anyone's to blame for the mess that was the Hobgoblin it's Christopher Priest and Jim Shooter.

Two.. both are out of print and Marvel doesn't intend to reprint them. :(

The two are Origin of the Hobgoblin (1993) that has Amazing Spider-Man #238-239, 244-245, 249-251, and Spectacular Spider-Man #85.

Then there's Hobgoblin Lives which collects the mini done by Stern, Frenz, and Perez.

The Origin of Venom trade does include the partnership of the Rose and Hobgoblin. But that's about it. It doesn't include the fight Hobby and Spidey have in the coming issues.
