I agree with you fully on Dark Reign chappy. The art is just horrible. Though the best part for me was Namor and Doom's chat after the meeting.

Honestly though, thinking about future and current F4 storylines. That make's less sense now.

Well, Chap, you know how I feel about FC #5.

I didn't pick up Dark Reign, and haven't gotten to Nightwing yet, so can't comment on those.

Second worse Namor. The one drawn in Doom 2099 during the latter issues is still the worse drawn Namor. :P

I have no idea what the hell happened at the end of FC #5. Up until Darkseid's minions began dropping like fleas around him. And ew at Mary coming onto Freddy. Ew ew.. ew. That's it I give up I'm not reading another thing from Morrison ever again.

The preview art looked pretty shitty for Dark Reign.

Namor looked like a crazy homeless guy they found at the soup kitchen.

Well that, and the fact that it was SUPPOSED to be disturbing. That was the point, to show how Mary, as an extension of the ever-increasingly potent Will of Darkseid, had been utterly defiled. She's soulless, without any direction, other than Darkseid; without any will, other than Darkseid's; without any purpose other than to do the degraded acts which make up her universe now, the universe of Darkseid.

That's one really interesting note that I picked up on re-reading it:

When Kara finally confronts Mary, and blasts her with heat vision, she says to her "There's still time to talk!" Now Kara must know, in her heart of hearts, that Mary is a lost cause, an arm of pure Evil. But Kara can't give up hope. She exhibits almost the embodiment of hope.

Honestly, I didn't recognize him in the preview.

only one I read so far is Dark Reign #1 so I read your review and have to agree with the art. Damn that is some horrible stuff, and I'm the quickest person to defend artists since I can't draw stick figures, but blechhh!

Phil Collins looked better at his worse than namor did. He looked like a leather man I once knew in Texas.

Loki didn't look hot at all. She looked liked an overweight housewife with a horn fetish.

Just bad.

Some of the story has possibilities though.

I'm right with the others on Dark Reign as far as the art goes. That was terrible. I thought the ideas of the story are alright, but I don't see why anyone would follow Osborne still. Sentry just isn't the kind of threat these guys can't handle and I don't get what Loki is getting out of this. Still there's enough interesting ideas here and I liked the other previews.

Final Crisis makes no sense. Why is the Question in Checkmate HQ and in a church dealing with Cain in Revelations? This issue was the most coherent storytelling so far and gave characters a moment to show why their stories are interesting and important, but it was still mostly garbage. It's the best issue of a disappointing and contradictory series.

Revelations continues to be a nice series, but it doesn't line up with FC at all. The Question is in a church dealing with huge celestial type things. Cain made the Spectre shout the Anti Life equation loud enough to turn anyone that wasn't already turned and had faith in God. It seems like that stuff is really important to what's going on in FC, but none of it is even really mentioned in the main book and some of it is directly contradicted.

Detective comics this week was great. I loved it and think it did a great job of showing who Dick is and who Harvey is. I don't know how well it jives with recent things in Nightwing, but on it's own it's a great story.

JLA was a nice introduction and set up of the characters in The Shadow Cabinet. I loved the scene of offering Buddy membership and of Black Canary scolding the Trinity for undermining her. The next issue should be a lot of fun. I also wonder what's up with both characters named Dr Light. Maybe the bad one isn't as dead as he seems and maybe the good one isn't fully retired.

Booster Gold did a great job of getting back to the plot thread that Dixon left hanging. I love Ralph's reaction to everything that was going on with the time travel stuff. I look forward to seeing who the bad guy was and where Booster is.

Trinity finally seems to be moving somewhere, so hopefully it's getting back on track. I enjoyed this issue quite a bit and hope it continues to move forward and doesn't get bogged down explaining another parallel Earth for way too long again.

GLC makes Krybb creepy every issue. I'm loving this story, even if the final resolution is pretty obvious right now.

Lastly, Secret Six continues to rock. Love the fighting going on and loved the surprise on the last page. I really look forward to seeing who Junior is.

The answer to that question is simple. Revelations take's place during the two month gap. So Question is still not in custody yet again. Who knows maybe at the end the Spectre will teleport her to Checkmate headquarters.
