Good, perhaps? I was probably gonna pick up the trade, and probably will, but because of Jae Lee, not King. And I like PAD, so good I guess.

I was going to pick it up because I thought King was writing it. Only to give it a shot, because it was something different.

If I wanted to read PAD, I'd pick up Fallen Angel (which I'm going to start doing).

I thought King writing comics was the whole big thing? This is just glorified fanfic then yes?

Writing a good book does not equal writing a good comic. Or a movie. Just like making a good music video doesn't mean you can direct a movie well.

Talent just doesn't always carry over. King's a decent writer...great by some estimations. I kinda sorta enjoyed the first two or three Dark Tower books. After that, I lost interest, got bored. I never really cared for anything going on. I never felt like "oh, NO, what's going to happen NEXT?" More often, I was feeling "when will this book end?"

I don't know that King's proven that he can translate his talent to comics. PAD, on the other hand, has demonstrated that he CAN translate his talent to books. So the question is, can he apply that to translate a book into a comic? I'm guessing yes.

Still, I'm not getting this. I'm slightly interested in supporting book-comic conversions, just so we can see more of them. But I don't think my budget can support all of them. I'd have to get near the entire Dabel Bros. line, and aside from the Anita Blake series, I'm just not interested in the other properties.

No. King is plotting the book. David is scripting...

i'm glad it's at least Peter David doing the scripting, and not some newbie. it kinda lends more credibility to the project since we found out King himself wasn't gonna write the damned things themselves.

now it's gonna be a classic comic book writer paired up with Mr King.

I knew as soon as JoeyQ described his meeting with King in an interview that King wouldn't actually be writing the comic. Apparently, King just shot out a bunch of ideas about the story while his assistant wrote it all down. Then Lee is going to draw scenes from what she wrote, and then David is going to script it.

I'm sure PAD will do a great job, but I doubt I'll be getting this. I like some of King novels, but I couldn't make it through the first Dark Tower book when I tried to read it years ago.

going in I was hoping King would have some type of real role, but seems to be involved in name only.
