Like the movie and music threads but with comics.
Last night I read Tales of the Unexpected #8. Great mini but eight issues is too long. I preferred the Doctor 13 part more than the Spectre part, but it did raise my intrest in the Spectre. Cliff Chiang is a wonderful artist and I'll probably be picking up his next work.
Reading through Annihilation Book Two on the trade front. The Silver Surfer has been my favorite on this instalment. People not name Chris Bachalo, Humberto Ramos, or Skottie Young shouldn't be allowed to draw superhero books in a cartoony style. That really took away from the Super Skrull portion. Ronan has been good so far.

misac, have you read the Phantom Stranger Showcase? Dr. Thirteen is an excellent adversary for the Stranger in those stories. They are extreme polar opposites. If you ever get it, let me know how you like it. I'm in the middle of that Showcase right now and am enjoying it very much. The Aparo art helps, too.

Just re-read The Losers in anticipation for the Carey\Jock Vertigo mini, and I'm about to dig into Local for the afternoon.

Dude, one does not toy with the Legion. Especially when it's chock full of sweet Curt Swan art. And get House of Mystery 2. It's better than volume 1.
And that's saying something!

The flashback issue? That one was funny as all get out. Got it signed by Joe Sinnott a while back.

The Lord of the Monkeys wishes to reread his Mike Grell Green Arrow run. But first, he must locate it....

I haven't read those in a while. Think I'll dig them out.
By the way, since we two seem to be the only ones here who have ever read Poe, have you ever met Jason Asala? I did at a couple of Mid-Ohio Cons a while back. Super nice guy.

Nope. Never met any comic creators.
Issues 7-12 really drag. I don't even know if I want to hunt down the last 12.
Did you ever meet him? Do you have the whole series?
