For those of you who haven't heard of The Cramps, he was one of the great Rock n' Roll frontmen of our time. This is fucking sad.

The Cramps were pretty weird.

Just not my cup of tea

I liked the cramps, but I never got into them enough to buy a record. Definitely good stuff, though.

I was never a huge fan of punk rock. I don't even really like the Clash.

Do you at least understand why they're awesome?

Of course I do. I just don't like the SOUND of them. Too raw for my tastes. I don't like Hendrix, either, but I recognize his genius.

A damn good thing.
I never heard a song by them that I disliked.

I wouldn't call them a punk band. Too artsy, almost like rockabilly. You can't really find anything similar enough to compare them to. Maybe the B-52, or the violent femmes. Two bands that sound nothing alike but feel right together in my brain..
