Zechs wrote:I hear you. Sometimes I get lucky (like with Wave 3 and Wave 5). But there is a few places where I know these cocksuckers don't go too. For example Meijjer stores by me has a TON of Hal Jordan (about ten) and single random Wave 3 usually around him. But at the other Meijjer they had the entire Wave 2 untouched. Review of three of those figures are coming.

Also one of the Targets by me has since put up signs around the action figure asile stating you cannot reserve items or ask for items in the back. I get sometimes lucky in finding Wave 3, but the bastards still get to it before me usually. But I have found Star Wars figures there that are usually hard to find there.

Get this: remember when ML had the wal-mart exclusive line of figs a while back? Guess which store didn't have them in my area?

Wal-Mart.

Ain't that a bitch?

I had to get most of them online at an increased cost. I say "most", because the ones I didn't get online...I simply didn't get. Wal-Marts in my area never had the Wal-Mart exclusives.

And i haven't seen any recent Hasbro ML waves in months. I just gave up on the frigging Ares BAF wave.

Well, I guess that's one way to kill my action figure addiction. Total lack of suppy to meet my personal demand.

Bah.

You want to hear something worse? You're Walmart wasn't the only one. Mine did the exact same thing. I kept asking them to call me the moment they got that ML wave and I kept asking if they had it in the back room. They kept telling me no we don't or gave me a clueless look.

Then after Black Friday my dad and I went to WalMart just to get some odds and ends. I happened upon the toy aisle and what do I find.. ML Ares wave I wanted. Well not all of them since the only figure they had left was War Machine and Human Torch all the other figures where picked clean. It pisses me off to no end that I have to wait till August hopefully to get Crossbones.

I'm wondering what to do with the next ML Line the Nemesis wave (really AoA Holocaust but Marvel's being PR about the name) of buying the parts online like Kalibak.

Speaking of DCU. My Walmart never carried Wave 4 at all. In fact they only began to carry Wave 6 (Kalibak) two weeks ago and could have bought the entire wave there (alternate costumes and all). But honestly I just want the BAF of the wave that's it. The next DCU actual figures I'm getting is whenever the one with Flash and Capt Cold come out.

The local Target by me (not the one I just told you about) has this cheap tactic. Whenever they do sales (Star Wars, G.I. Joe, and DCU) they wait till the next day before restocking the entire shelves. They leave the restock on the first day of the sale then never restock until after it. Pisses me off to no end as well. And whenever I ask if they got a load they bs me saying, "We don't have it." Which is bull I know they have it back there. How I got Battle Armor CC and Wraith. I waited till the next day after sales and sure enough they restocked and put the damn most wanted figures out for full price.

That's what's going to be a future article of the Toy Shed. Horror Stories of Toy Hunting. I'll go into each pet peeve I hate.

"Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"
"Are you capable of speaking without flapping your hands about?"
""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

I have some anime figures. Ryomou in a nurse outfit, Epyon (which wings broke on me :(), Tallgeese I and II, Wing Zero, Wufei's Gundam custom from Waltz, and Gundam GP-2 (from 0083), Kisuke Urahara from Bleach, Aoshi, and Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin.

But most of them are more like statues than actual figures save for the Gundams. Also the Clone Emperor's robe is kinda well.. wierd not to mention underneath he's not wearing anything at all.. cept a thong AH!!

Course my biggest problem is his robe issues. I'll have a review up of both figures in the coming weeks. Next week is Sith and Star Wars related though. Sith Evolution something I should have done awhile back but never did. :P

It appears you can vote in for some of them too. Dear God due to Wolvie and the X-Men and X-Force the world needs a Domino figure!

Also Toys R Us is gonna have an exculsive three pack set of Spidey and his Amazing Friends (Ice-Man and Firestar):

In two weeks I'm going to have an article of the down side to looking for toys. It's gonna be a rant on a-holes like that and toy managers who wait till their shelves are bone dry before they reorder.

Course I do. I already told ya the example one of my Target's do. Heck I know one of them visited my local Wal-Mart. I stopped by one day at said store and it had all of DCUC Wave 6 (Kalibak). I thought nah.. won't buy it. Then had second thoughts on getting the Big Red Cheese. Go back four hours later. ALL OF IT GONE cept for Mr. Miracle. Why was he spared? No BAF part was in his set.

Same happened to new Ventress figure at a Toys R Us. On a Monday I go there noticing they got six of her there. I thought eh don't have the money now I'll go back tommorrow. Do that and guess what.. the Ventresses are all gone. Not only that but so are the General Grevious and Ahoska figures that are hard to come by.

Same goes for the Joes or DCUC. These fuckers swarm and take the moment the learn of something hitting. Why I'll even bet the new TDK set my local Toys R Us got today will be cleared of it's Joker's and Joker Thugs by tommorrow.

All to get that extra cash. Kids or collectors rarely get the good stuff cause of these damn scalpters.

None, I can't afford them. But I know of at least four places that I can buy them, one being up the street from my home.

I'd love to have those two as well.

Now here's an open question.

If you're shopping for a figure, and some kid spots it in your hands, gives the long face, would you give it to him/her or kick them so they'll fuck off?
What about a parent of said kid giving you the guilt trip or a staffer at the store?

I ask because years ago, it seemed like every time I went into my LCS to buy a Transformer or Star Wars figure, some kid or two would show up and whine. Followed by a whiny parent. Every freaking time when I bought an Optimus Prime or Luke Skywalker. "It's just a toy and your like...an adult like....." I showed restraint and didn't teach the kid(s) that their mom could cry when called a string of certain words. Unlike in 1990.

In toronto, there's a shitload of places to buy figs at. At least ML figures. Around here, that ain't so much the case.

In my experience, it's not kids, or parents with kids, rather, buying these figures.

And both Mattel and Hasbro realize this, or else they wouldn't have each created separate lines specifically aimed at kids.

So, I'd either tell the parent that, and aim them towards the cheaper kids-themed product that won't break the first time little Johnny tries to have Kitty Pryde drop an atomic elbow on Blue variant Costume Angel.

Or, I'd simply tell the parent he must not really love his kid, because instead of running his fuckin' mouth, he could have been stabbing me in the belly. At which point, I would stab him in the belly for being a failure as a parent, and say to the child, "Welcome to life, kid. Get a fuckin' job."
