Did the last issue end with the "surprise" reveal that Larfleeze was showing up on Oa for a fight? Was it treated as a "surprise" despite the fact that his appearance was shown on the cover of this issue and the solicits? Is Venditti pretty much keeping to the Johns formula in general?

Hal seems more on his game this issue and makes a couple smart command battle decisions.
Yes, that Star Sapphire was a "red shirt" but that was so the new Star Sapphire could become active and, if I'm interpreting previews correctly, join up with Relic.
