That artwork is very Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning cartoony :|

But enjoyable.

Do you like Art Adams? It's basically the same as his work.

Yeah, I see the resemblance now. Huh. Something about the previews makes them all look like "little people", like they're drawn with stumpy limbs or something :smt017

I prefer that colorful cartoony art to any noirish, dark bullshit.

It has a cartoon feel, but nothing like HB to me.

The artwork was passable but the issue wreaked of bad writing all over. I mean I knew Gladiator was going to lose but this was dumb all over. First off, didn't Gladiator get his ass kicked the first time he went up against the Phoenix? So what made him think that this time would be different? And like I have said before, why didn't he get the Imperial Guard and the Annihilators to help him instead of some lowly troops and the Death Commandos no one cares about? Also, wasn't Gladiator trying to rescue his son? Why didn't he try and get Kubark instead of just fighting the Phoenix 5? The worst part though was the crappy back-story of Warbird that really did nothing for this issue. Overall, it's so dumb how Gladiator and the Shi Ar-who were an essential part of the Phoenix Saga-got played down to bit characters and we get stuck with pointless fights between the Avengers and the X-Men.
