And let's continue with another sample of interior pages.
This time from Volume 5, issue #2.

I was experimenting with a different brush on these pages.
Or basically.... I finally gave up on my LAST brush. I'm the type who will use an ink brush until it isn't a brush any more. I'll tilt it, tweak it, find the sweet spot on it... anything before I actually realize I NEED A NEW BRUSH! And then once I switch over it's all gravy. The lines are crisp again, the curves less forced.

Same with my ink. I'll let it get to the bottom and thicken into paste. I'll end up dipping it over and over until it's huge shovel-looking ink slopper. But, just as with the brush, once I open a new bottle it's like smooth silk.

Anyway... I'm rambling.

More interiors from another issue - hopefully you can see the rhythm of dead black comedy I was trying to establish. I know Bomb Queen is a nasty piece of work, but I try to make a weird blend of mish-mash, bleak comedy, chaos, manga, traditional superhero fodder and whatever is nearby.

Thanks. And nice avatar, Strict31. Hah!
I appreciate those kind words. I'm still learning the ropes.
After these preview pages I'll get back to the sketches and progress pages.
Talk a little more "shop".

In fact, I'm working on a Bomb Queen vs. Atom Eve sketch right *now*. I'll post progress on that as it comes along.

Hmm... HBO / Cable / Spike TV? There might be potential in that. Who knows!?

Spike did that Afro Samurai show...maybe an animated Bomb Queen feature could work.

Who would you cast as the voice if it were to be animated?

Animation? Now you're talking my language.
God, I have no idea which voice actor to use. I'll let you in on this tidbit. I am HORRIBLE with names. I can watch a film, animated series, or whatever.... but ten minutes after the credits roll I couldn't repeat any names to save my life.

I'd have to leave that up to the experts.

Oh... I guess you already thought of that one...

How about we compromise.... an animated feature film.... how does that sound?!

To be bloody honest, I haven't read any of your comic, so I don't know the story... I'm just commenting on her character design, and the over-all look of the comic. I can see it not being main stream, necessarily... but, who knows.... Watchmen made it....

You're right. Who knows... perhaps 10 or 20 years from now when Hollywood 3.0 is scratching the bottom of the barrel for the next theatrical hologram cranium jack-in film they might buy the rights for Bomb Queen, haha!

Or wait until I'm dead. [knocks on wood]

As for animation... I'm all for that. I'm a huge anime fan. Just do it for HBO, SHOWTIME, or some other edgy cable channel.

Or hell... screw them all. This is after all, the goddamn internet!

It is sweet to see you here. Now I don't have to go far to read the latest news on Bomb Queen. :-D
"Why are you pointing your screwdrivers like that? They're scientific instruments, not water pistols."
"Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"
"Are you capable of speaking without flapping your hands about?"
""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

Agreed.

But I've never read any Bomb Queen, and I don't really do monthly comics anymore. So, can you tell me more about this aforementioned BQ Omnibus?
