And let's continue with another sample of interior pages.
This time from Volume 5, issue #2.
I was experimenting with a different brush on these pages.
Or basically.... I finally gave up on my LAST brush. I'm the type who will use an ink brush until it isn't a brush any more. I'll tilt it, tweak it, find the sweet spot on it... anything before I actually realize I NEED A NEW BRUSH! And then once I switch over it's all gravy. The lines are crisp again, the curves less forced.
Same with my ink. I'll let it get to the bottom and thicken into paste. I'll end up dipping it over and over until it's huge shovel-looking ink slopper. But, just as with the brush, once I open a new bottle it's like smooth silk.
Anyway... I'm rambling.
More interiors from another issue - hopefully you can see the rhythm of dead black comedy I was trying to establish. I know Bomb Queen is a nasty piece of work, but I try to make a weird blend of mish-mash, bleak comedy, chaos, manga, traditional superhero fodder and whatever is nearby.
