Call of Cthulhu / Artwork:Michael Zigerlig/intro: H.R.Giger

Postby The Chronist » Mon Jun 01, 2009 5:24 am

Hi,

At the moment I`m working on a three part comic book adaption of H.P. Lovecraft`s Call of Cthulhu. Chapter one is already finished and at the moment I`m working on chapter two. H.R. Giger writes the introduction for all of the three parts. He and his wife Carmen gave me much motivation to keep on drawing while working on a full time job.

We`ve sent it to dark horse comics three weeks ago and waiting for reply...

Here a few sample pages... Hope you like it.

Good news everyone... the graphic novel will be released in January or February by Tranzfusion (former Caliber) Publishing as a book with 72 pages.

How'd I miss this?

It's not available for pre-order at DCBS for January so I hope it's for February. Looks great!

:) Actually it`s a swiss name, so you can pronounce it like in german. That means the both "i" are like "ee", not "ai" and the "Z" ist strong.

I love the inking. The images are small, but it looks as though the mid tones were done with ink strokes instead of an ink wash. I like seeing ink strokes instead of a grey wash for making the transition from shadow to light....I hope that makes since.

Anyway..the inking seem solid but people and backgrounds need some tooling.

Sherlock Holmes, Five Swords from Outer Hell and The Temple

Postby The Chronist » Thu Feb 04, 2010 5:17 am

Hi,

Thank you. At the moment I`m working on my new projects which are Sherlock Holmes: Murder at Moulin Rouge, written by Gary Reed (Deadworld, Saint Germaine, Red Diaries...), and a Lovecraft related story written by myself which is set in the 8th century (A young taoist student named Oax is searching for Irem, the City of Pillars. And Abdul Alhazred who is trying to bring the Old Ones back with an army of ghouls)

The third one is with producer and director Brian Yuzna (Re-Animator, Dagon...). He is playing with the idea to adapt the Lovecraft short story "The Temple" for the screen. I will meet him and H.R. Giger this month to discuss it.

I`ll inform you when I know more

Best, Michael
