I have been working on some story ideas, but I cannot draw much of anything.

My hope is to find someone who could be my collaborator for some future series that we could pitch to Image or even self-publish. I am still a little new to the business, but I have a very good understanding of good storytelling and neat ideas (At least, I like to think so).

I have a couple of ideas to work on and could turn out to be a fruitful relationship.

Is there anyone out there willing with work with me?

Being a comics writer is such a good gig. You jot down a couple of words, someone else does hours of drawing making your words make sense, and you get most of the credit and less than half of the criticism.

Ha! I know...but I am not looking for a drawing monkey. I am looking for someone I can share the credit with.

I have two stories I have had on the forefront of my mind lately. They are still works in progress.

The first one is very much a mini-series.

The second one is more of an ongoing thing. We could turn it into like a Girls or The Sword were it caps at 24 issues, making it a tighter story.

I am a bit reluctant to share further plot details because that would spoil the fun.

Hmm....I may be forced to teach myself how to draw.

You could always advertise on one of those artists collective websites like deviantart or whatever.

I am an artist, and used to want to draw comics. However, I don't have the time to do it anymore... My bro-in-law's brother sent me some stories, and he keeps bugging me to ask how I'm doing, and I haven't done a single sketch yet...

I think I have decided to go it alone. I am going to attempt to make the book myself.

Wish me luck.

That's a damn lie. You've had some beautiful sketches, iirc.

OTOH, you would be better suited to do an illustrated story instead of a comic, imo.

You should draw the whole comic in MS Paint.

DeviantArt sucks for finding collaborators. I've looked there multiple times in the last three years and I've only found people who flake on the deadline or expect more cash than what they're worth.

Digital Webbing is amazing, though. Place an ad over there and you'll receive hundreds of offers with some very professional portfolios for as little as $15-20 per page/inked.

all my stuff is referenced if I was making a professional assignment I'd have to take all my own pics or everyone here would call me a thief
