I think the lineweights are too similar though and they flatten the piece.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

I'm only using oils right now along with various mixtures of damar varnish, turpentine, mineral spirits, linseed oil and sometimes liquin. Also a couple drops of copal drier.

I'm still experimenting with all those mixtures cause honestly I don't know what the fuck I'm doing with them or how to apply them effectively and the teacher is worth a damn when it comes to actual demos or physical help. He mostly talks to hear himself. College money wasted honestly.
