Adjusted for inflation, the first Hulk would have had a $27 million friday if it opened today, compared to $21 for this hulk.

The first Hulk made $62 million first weekend, adjusted for inflation $70,886,200

Using inflation adjusted numbers:

Friday openings for M. Night

Happening $12.8 million
Lady in the Water $7.1 million
Village $22.5 million
Signs $24.7
Unbreakable First day, $8.7, first Friday $15.7
Sixth Sense $10.8

a rebound of sorts, but not where he was. On the other hand, it is R rated

I think it's funny that they mention it's his first R rated movie.

To be fair, the franchise is coming off a DISASTER.. people may be leery of the Hulk property. Give it time for some word of mouth to filter through the populace.

I thought it was great, actually. I hope it does do well. I really enjoyed it more than Iron Man.

Some men just want to watch the world burn.
