I'm sure I'll get shit for this, but I think Leonardo Dicaprio would be pretty good.

Great actor, but he strikes me as a little shorter and skinnier than Steve Rogers appears.

It's a nice choice, but I question his acting chops. The only thing I know him from is Grey's Anatomy, and X3, where he played a lackey. Not much to go on.

I think he has the body type(tall, broad), and I think he sort of looks All-American, whitebread enough to play Cap.

But his acting range leaves something to be desired. He's good as far as TV acting goes, but I don't think I'd want to depend on that for someone like Captain America who needs to be captivating.

Much as I loves me some Nathan Fillion, I think he's too old now for a role that's got to last the next 6-9 years, accounting for sequels.

DiCapprio...he could work, although I question whether he'd agree to more than one film. I'm not concerned with either bulk or height. both can be addressed by the magic of film. If Braveheart can make Mel Gibson look like he's 6' tall by casting around him as for scale, Marvel can do the same with DiCapprio. I doubt anyone could tell that James Marsden was on a platform for all the shots he did with Famke/Jean for the X-Men films.

As for the muscles...they can do that with a suit if he needs to bulk up enough, or even go with some CGI motion capture ala Gollum. Heck, even the airbrushed 6 packs of 300 could work. There's lots of things SFX can do to make DiCapprio look like Cap. There ain't enough CGI in the world that can equal the talent that he could bring to the part.

I just dont see DeCaprio as Cap. I liked him in The Departed, but I dont know, he just doesnt have "It".

Pitt is really good when he's motivated, but I don't see DiCaprio at all. It's not that he isn't a really good actor, because he is, but I don't think he could pull of the gravitas needed to portray Cap.

Personally, I think Matt Damon would be perfect for the role.
