The Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man has hit the web!

CULVER CITY, Calif.One of the world's most popular characters is back on the big screen as a new chapter in the Spider-Man legacy is revealed in The Amazing Spider-Man(TM). Focusing on an untold story that tells a different side of the Peter Parker story, the new film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the film in association with Marvel Entertainment for Columbia Pictures, which will open in theaters everywhere in 3D on July 3, 2012.

I really hate to be one of those guys, but the original really doesn't hold up well.

Despite liking Raimi, I think it's great to see another take on this.

It seems a bit more action-heavy, which I like. And while it seems like an origin tale, it's not the same one that was used in Raimi's, which at least makes it less of a retread.

Kid looks suitable geeky and also seems to fit the body type a little better than Toby. I'm not in love with the costume, but it doesn't seem bad in motion and I doubt it would be a deal breaker for me, or anyone else.

Sorry, just an opinion. I watched it a few months ago and really didn't think it was anything special.

Overall, I just didn't like Raimi's style on Spidey. Even Spidey 2 (which I like) is filled with his signature filming and style, some of which annoyed me in the film.

Again, I'm happy someone else is being given a shot. I would have loved to see Fincher, but this looks good.

Man that was awesome. This is gonna be outstanding. Its still my 3rd most anticipated film of the summer.

Although this one does seem to be following what I consider to be the big mistake with comic films, letting the bad guy know the heroes secret Identity. I hate that because it typically means that the villain wont survive the movie.
