Amazon Launches Sci-Fi/Fantasy Imprint

Postby LOLtron » Tue Oct 11, 2011 1:21 pm

Amazon Launches Sci-Fi/Fantasy ImprintAmazon.com is launching it's own Science Fiction and Fantasy Imprint: 47North

Amazon.com is expanding their publishing house, launching the 47North imprint to publish Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror under.   They will publish original and previously published works from authors old and new and also some out of print books.

47North have lined up 15 titles for launch with its first title coming from Lee Goldberg and William Rabkin, the authors of Successful Television Writing and who have written and/or produced scores of highly successful network television series, including Diagnosis Murder, Spenser: For Hire, and Baywatch.

The majority of books will start being released in the first quarter of 2012 and will be a mix of stand alone books and the first of series' novels.  Neal Stephenson's Foreworld series will be one and a number of other authors have signed on so far, including: Greg Bear, Daven Duncan, Arwen Elys Dayton, Aric Davis, Evan Curries, Stephen Leather, Chris Roberson, B.V. Larson and more.

All titles will be available to English readers in Kindle, print and audio formats at www.amazon.com, and the company plans to distribute to bookstores (though some wonder how they will get their books into chain bookstores).

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) is a US-based multinational electronic commerce company. Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, it is often called the world's largest online retailer. Amazon has websites and delivery for the following countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Japan, and China. Launches in Netherlands, Sweden, and India may follow. It also provides international shipping to certain countries for some of its products.

Just because I don't know how to spell the language of some tiny African nation doesn't mean that I'm wrong in thinking that your attitude towards women is 100% wrong. Obviously, you're some skinny, single nerd living on the East Coast who probably derives value in life from wrestling matches, hoping that Wolverine gets to sleep with teenagers and engaging in casual drug use. You're literally the worst thing to happen to comics since Stan Lee.

It'll be interesting to see how this does.

Nah, never happen.
Ah, well.. I can dream, can't I...?"- Guy Gardner.
