Acclaimed manga creator and anime director Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira, Domu) revealed that he is preparing a new manga series for "a certain shōnen magazine." According to the interview published in the April issue of Shinchosha's art magazine Geijutsu Shincho on Saturday, this will be Otomo's first shōnen work — and his first long series since Akira.
The same issue of Geijutsu Shincho also features "DJ Teck no Morning Attack," an original eight-page color manga drawn by Otomo. This is the first manga drawn by Otomo since "Kouen" ("Park"), his 2006 short. Otomo is producing a new anime short called "Hi-no-Youjin" or "Combustible," which will run at France's Annecy festival in June.

A promotional video and website for the Rinne no Lagrange anime have announced that production on a new original video anime project, Rinne no Lagrange: Kamogawa Days, has been green-lit. An advance screening event will run in 10 theaters nationwide on June 23.

The anime company TMS Entertainment began streaming the first promotional video for Lupin III - Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna (Lupin III - The Woman Called Fujiko Mine), the first new Lupin III television anime series in 27 years. The same promotional video played during the 40th anniversary Lupin III anime event on March 18.

High School DxD director Tetsuya Yanagisawa has signed on to helm an adaptation of Aoi Sekai no Chuushin de, a fantasy manga by Carmine from the doujinshi circle Crimson concerning a war for dominance between a pair of kingdoms representing Sega and Nintendo, featuring characters loosely inspired by the likes of Sonic, Link, and Mario.
