I hope it goes over more then well enough for them to do Yamato II as well. The second series has always been my favorite of the franchise.

Neat new way of launching the cosmo-fighters.

Now to tease Zechs.
That show is too good and modern for Toonami to play. They only like already played stuff. :P

Yeah that was interesting. Not sure how well that would work in atmosphere though.

Yeah although they are two new shows, it does seems like they are approaching it on the cheap.

It would work well, considering helio jumps not to mention the numerous launches of high atmosphere craft. The drop would given near instant lift.

My problem with Toonami, other then it does not play here in Canada, is that the choices are limited. There's a ton of stuff every year that could work for North American fans. For some, it's a case of just showing them that there are more genres within anime then not.
And example of playing right now is the series Hyouka. It's a simple mystery show, but very well done. Instead they'll go for Hiiro no Kakera
, which while a good show, is a bit formula and typical for their broadcast fare. Saint Seiya Omega would work, but that would be more a fluff adventure show.

Gundam Unicorn and Yamato should both play on it for the high end sci-fi adventure.

I'm sure it would work for high atmosphere but not sure about lower atmosphere. I guess it might depend on how much coaxing it takes to get it out of the hangar. Looks like in space they need to boost it a bit, but maybe with gravity, less so.

As far as Toonami, they are bringing CN to Canada right? That doesn't include Toonami?

I can image it being easy, considering they have engines capable of reaching orbit, they'd just "bull" their way into full flight and deal with the Gs... I also doubt they'd do a low atmosphere drop for those fighters. Instead they'd launch the Cosmo Zeroes to provide cover until the ship reaches an altitude where they can drop the Cosmo Falcons. (That being what they are now, complete with new details including F-22 like vectored thrust.) With space they could easily deal with by using launch much like present day carriers. Just backwards for the fighters. I noticed that the hanger seems to be a bit of a mix of the classic with the last animated production. Meanwhile, the bridge seems to have been modified with influences from the live film. Add to all of that, the belly missiles.

Hard to say, they'd have to get CRTC approval and YTV has a strong hold on anime up here. I've barely looked to see if they're still about, but they had a pay for view set of anime channels. Same old stuff as what was on the channel or previously played on the other channel, Teletoon. Teletoon was the first to play anime, mostly 90s commercial stuff... mind you it was also the 90s at the time. Played the hell out of Patlabor 1 and 2. There could be some deal going on, much like HBO. Thing is, what the American version sees and what we get, no matter the channel, is not always the same.

Konami's Busou Shinki Action Figures Get TV Anime

A TBS television commercial announced on Friday that a television anime adaptation of Konami's Busou Shinki line of armed female action figures has been green-lit for this fall. The new anime has a different staff from the Busou Shinki: Moon Angel net anime that preceded it last year.

The slice-of-life battle story is set in a future that has neither World War III nor an alien invasion — just an ordinary future set after our current age. In this world, robots are part of everyday life, and they contribute in various aspects of society. "Shinki" are 15-centimeter-tall (about 6-inch-tall) cute partners made to assist humans. Equipped with intelligence and emotions, they devote themselves to serving their "Masters."

Teletoon will be dealing with the CN stuff it seems. Not sure how it all works up there. No Toonami shows have been announced though...

Teletoon is now owned by YTV, so... who knows. These channels flip back and forth with shows and genres. Hence why I rarely watch them. That and the content doesn't interest me for the most part.
