IMO it's not that good at all.

It's certainly watchable, with some great moments. But there are episodes which just completely suck. There are story lines I hate and the ending was poor.

If you've seen everything amazing television has to offer like The Sopranos/The Wire/Breaking Bad/Man Men/Arrested Development/Lost/Community

Then watch BSG. It's on a level below the very best IMO. Like Walking Dead or How I Met Your Mother.

Its awesome. You feel the drama, of a hopeless escape attempt by the last survivors of the human race.
Politics, religion, betrayal and destiny are the cornerstones of BSG.

The ending is... unique, but a fitting one.

I'm somewhat lost. Are you talking about the 2004-2009 series, or is there a new one?
To develop their conscience and consciousness, to make them aware of what is going on, to prepare the precarious ground for the future alternatives—this is our task: "our" not only as Marxists but as intellectuals, and that means all those who are still free and able to think by themselves and against indoctrination, communist as well as anticommunist.

Not really if you want a good series with a good story. It otherwise is worth it as a time killer, FX and ... well, space bitches.

Some episodes were good to okay, while most just failed. It's horrible with cliches and formula.

If it was a roller coaster ride then the last bit is the most boring bit instead of the climax. Or, it's like chewing the same stick of gum for an hour. The taste is long gone and replaced by something you really would prefer not to have to taste.

Just watch it, it's part of the cred as a geek/nerd.

If you haven't watched The Wire there is no need to watch this first.

There is going to be a new one. A mini set during the original war with a young Adama as a hot shot rookie Viper pilot.

I never saw it complete and in secuencial order and I enjoyed it pretty much. It's on my list of things to watch on DVD someday.

Watch to the end of season one. Its a short season and it ends well. The series is good until they leave New Caprica, then it starts to lose focus. There are good bits, but the best is behind it.

Watch the first two seasons. They're some of the best TV of the last decade.

Then watch the first half of Season 3, and stop there.

Overall, I enjoyed the reboot Battlestar Galactica.

There were a lot of moments that had me saying to myself, "this totally amazing!" However, the big problem I had with the series was the fact that there are way too many episodes you have to get through in which I was saying, "c'mon, let's just get on with it!" When the good moments come, it makes the slogging through the boring episodes worth it. The biggest problem is that to truly get the impact of the big moments and understand why they are so cool, you have had to have watched the not so great episodes, so you can't just skip over them.

Basically, it's a good series that's a bit of a mixed bag at the same time.
