The credit sequence with the Bob Dylan song was one of the best I've seen in any superhero film.
Overall, I liked the film, but some bits remained too faithful to the original while other parts were changed too much for my taste. I don't have a problem with getting rid of the alien squid, but I still don't see how making Dr. Manhattan the patsy makes the world sympathetic towards the United States.
Another change is using an actor in great shape for Nite Owl. Patrick Wilson was great, but Nite Owl being out of shape and supposedly past his prime was a huge part of his story arc (including associative sexual impotence).
But I did LOL at the flame ejaculation sequence, so what do I know.
Watchmen should have been an HBO-style miniseries. I'm more and more in favor of smaller-screen adaptations. Hopefully Daredevil and Heroes-for-Hire will prove me right.
