No, this is not to flatter the cat

My mom needed help with tough-guy tasks, helping to move bricks from a truck to the house, so I came here and she has a little cat, now I'm enjoying the empty house and there is a cat going here and there and trying to eat my clothes and it's the happy-est I've been in weeks. They truly make my day improve and there is a sense of company I had forgotten since the girl-in-question.
