DC has three Justice League books (soon to be 4). Katana and Vibe wouldn't have titles if they weren't part of the JLA. All of their key properties are on one of the JL teams. The animated films they are making feature the group. There's a live action movie in the works. I don't see how the franchise has been marginalized.

I'm just gonna stop you right there. Because I know exactly where you're going with this. If cheap digital comics were going to draw in the youngest demographics, they'd be torrenting them and reading them already. Digital is not a panacea for the loss of the youth market, no matter how much people swear up and down that it would be.

To be blunt at the risk of oversimplification, games and social media are to kids today as comics were to kids in the mid-late 20th century.

I wouldn't say that it's the only story though. The entire run of Exiles would make no sense without Marvel's multiverse. You couldn't have any issues of What IF, if Marvel only had one Earth.

Fair enough... but my main point is that is, again, the exception to the rule. It's not like all these multiple earths are being shown in different comics that cross over into each other on a regular basis like people seem to want with a DC mulitiverse.

Also, I think the re-introduction of a DC multiverse on the scale some people are talking would hurt, rather than help, the DCU. As I said in my first post, I think the JSA coming before the JLA is a great thing and the legacy heroes are important and something Marvel doesn't do (and neither does DC it seems at the moment).

The key is marketability. Batman is at the top, JL and Superman tied for second. Maybe GL too. Flash is getting the bump right now. But that Justice League movie is a long time off.

Precisely. Besides the only reason Warner is interested in making a JL as a movie is the knee-jerk reaction to the success of the Avengers movie as they had many years to make one but let it rot in limbo.

Most people would. My point was Justice League hasn't been pushed aside by DC. Besides Batman and maybe Superman, its the most marketable property they have, and they use it accordingly. Its why they started the New 52 relaunch with Justice League. Its why they called their team of supernatural characters "Justice League Dark" instead of "Shadowpact" or "Sentinels of Magic" and they have "Justice League 3000" rather than "Legion of Superheroes". The brand is key.

Ok here is what would happen if DC, WB, CN and co got their A-Game together franchise wise:

DC Cinematic Universe:

Selina Kyle: Catwoman
Jean Paul Valley: Azrael
Red Robin

Starman
Green Lantern 2( With Ryan Gosling this time)

Merging DC and CN would be a good start if it made animated series cheaper to produce.

All I want is more DC Animated Showcase. That was a brilliant idea and something I wish they continued. Also maybe dip into the anime market as Marvel did. They have the characters for it. Some characters would make good anime too. If DC would just consider to use them and not think of them as toxic. :smt011

Or better yet, have DC get their own TV channel to make their own shows and movies without WB's hand's on interference. Plus have some of the Hanna Barbera and CN properties merge with DC's own brand.

I doubt DC Comics will be going into the shoe business, because if these guys.

Especially after the little embarrassing incident when DC Comics tried to sue DC Shoes for trademark infringement, then found out that it didn't technically own the "DC" trademark then had to pay the shoe company, which DID have the "DC" trademark), so it could keep calling itself DC Comics.

In case you ever want to know whyDC probably had to get new logo.
