Exactly. Good pickup is a safety issue.

as opposed to the morons driving a v8 while talking on their cell and not paying attention? or the old man in his Caddy that can haul ass but he's driving 50mph?

Ah, well I would imagine the Volt is generally created for short drives, rather than highway.

Again, if your commute is less than 40 miles back and forth, you would use no gas.

I wonder what your electricity bill would be like though?

Alright. That still doesn't change the fact that merging onto the interstate or major highway requires pushing down on the gas so as to avoid getting annihilated.

Not everyone drives in a city grid.
