Stern's schtick must be pretty old by now as well.

I don't think anyone actually really listened to Opie & Anthony, well not as many as watch Colbert.

hence my reference to O&A's comments about Howard, which were similar to his comments about Carson.

I haven't listened to Howard since he went to XM.

Colbert effectively moved past his schtick after he won his Peabody award.

You make it sound like the is a consensus that Colbert is stale which couldn't be further from the truth.

Actually Rob is a good barometer, if he doesn't care for it it's generally pretty cool and to reverse it just see the Star Wars threads.

Any schtick done this long is stale imo.

But i didn't speak to a consensus so don't put words in my mouth.

i didnt speak for anyone else, nor did i do the hab like personal attacks.

I simply stated my opinion as to why i dont find him funny any more-it got old. everything does.

Frankly it doesnt really matter to me. He's become less relevant. I never really hear anyone talking about him much anymore.

I think he did two fatal things for what he does

took himself too seriously-see migrant worker speech before congress

and

became a caricature of himself with the rally to restore sanity which wasn't nearly as funny or impactful as advertised. he wasn't fresh anymore. it was 3 yrs too late.

That migrant workers speech was classic.

His SuperPac is also doing very well.

Whoa settle down there. I just said you made it sound like a consensus.

Well I disagree with you. I think he is still pretty relevant as this poll shows. His Super PAC has tons of money which is crazy if you think about it. His ratings are still great. And I don't find 6 years is a long time for what he does. :smt102

what I said was a generalization,

what you said was an insult.

The only people I know who enjoy either show are leftists, and I don't think either comedian tries to appeal to the other side at all.

That's hab. all he has is insults.

if you don't agree with him, you're the enemy.

Colbert's ratings are not that great. If you combined his viewers with Stewart's, you still have a half million less than O'Reilly. It is the more the demo if anything.

Together with the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning "The Colbert Report," COMEDY CENTRAL's late night talk show combination were the Top 2 most-watched and highest-rated late night talk shows in all of television with adults 18-34, adults 18-24, men 18-34 and men 18-24.

That is pretty impressive.

Comparing their ratings to their real competition like Letterman, Leno and Conan makes more sense that comparing them to a political pundit who airs at 8 pm on the #1 news channel.

Colbert's speech at Bush's dinner deal a few years back was great, but I just get tired of him quickly I guess.

Colbert was the best part of Harvey Birdman.

I enjoy his show quite a bit and enjoy when he somehow makes a mockery of politics such as in this case.
