I liked it.

I thought it was funny, and I enjoyed it more than the previous season premiere.

I really feel that the negative reaction is based around the fact that we know about the backstage drama. And it did feel a bit off given that, but some moments had me laughing pretty hard, which is the purpose of the show.

One thing I hope they reign in is all the meta self referential jokes that the show started drowning in last year. Sometimes it is just too much when every 10 minutes Abed or someone else does something that screams "HEY DUMMY THIS IS A TV SHOW GET IT?"

From your earlier point and a friend suggested this earlier, if they come back for season 5 will they just bring in Fred Willard and have Abed be the only one to notice? :lol:

A little bit of good news, while other NBC shows have struggled in ratings (like 1600 Penn) and others have returned to lower ratings than their previous seasons (like Smash), apparently Community's season premiere was able to bring in higher ratings than it's season 3 premiere! Considering the fact that NBC did very little to promote the return of the show, I would call that a small success.

Yeah, nothing happened at the end of last season that would have caused Chang to have Changnesia but we have no idea what happened to him over the course of the "summer." If I remember correctly, the last place we saw him was in the air vent of City College in Dean Spreck's office. Maybe City College is planning another attack on Greendale and Chang is the only person who knows about it! :shock:

I saw a mini clip with the cast talking about the new season, and judging by the actor's response, the amnesia is real. Of course, that could be a massive misdirect, too.

Well when you hit rock bottom as he did, something would snap even more so than previously. It does make sense.

It's chang though so not sure we can trust him. :lol:

Just saw the new episode. There is definitely something off (especially with Abed), but I still enjoyed it.

Season 4 premiere was a bit of a letdown for me. The executive producers should have avoided putting the spotlight on Abed. He is now the toughest character to write for because he shares so many of Dan Harmon's personality quirks. Smart move to elevate Dean Pelton. No one is emotionally invested in that character which gives the room a lot of leeway in writing him.

Glad to see most of the posters here liked it. Saw some tweets mercilessly ripping apart this episode.
