It's rare that any show bounces back from a season 2 high, they primarily just limp to the magic 100 episode syndication number.

That's the real evil in network television imo.

Finally saw the season finale. Another mixed episode, some good, some not so. I'm glad it wasn't the series finale because it didn't have that good final impact.

Winger as teacher makes a lot of sense story wise. Let's see if they can pull it off.

Cautiously optimistic we'll get the old magic back.

We will but I'm going to go ahead and say there will be at least 5 references to how last year just felt...off...

Since the fourth season ended and it was announced that Community would be renewed, Dan Harmon has been in negotiations to return as the show runner for the fifth season. Today, he confirmed it on Twitter.

From Danny Pudi:

Yeah, I have to admit that I didn't expect to hear that Dan Harmon would be returning to Community on the same day that we learned that Matt Smith would be leaving Doctor Who. Big day for entertainment news. Wonder if we'll hear anything else by the end of the day.

Jean "Edith Bunker' Stapleton died today.

At least one of these three is good news.

What are some examples of this happening on other television shows? I know Larry David returned for the Seinfeld finale, but that was one episode, and many complained about it (not me). I cannot stop thinking about Claremont's return to The Uncanny X-Men in 2000 (when I almost quit reading the book).
