He narrowly avoided that fate. He was born at 11:30pm on 2/10.

Little guy was born at 34 weeks, so he's staying in the NICU for now. My wife is still recovering, but will hopefully be home today or tomorrow.

As for pics, here is little Adam looking none too happy about coming out early.

Congratulations, Mr. Black. I was worried because of having read your stressed out post the other day, and then seeing the baby had already been born. It's good to hear that your wife is recovering and that your son is fine, despite arriving early.

Congrats! So, he's in the cooker?

My first was 32 weeks and now, he's taller than his mom (12 years old).

He's actually the same length as his older brother was when he was born at 37 1/2 weeks. Preemie clothes won't actually fit him due to his length.

I saw him today, and he's starting to look like a normal baby. The doctors have been impressed with his performance thus far. They want to get him off the IV in the next few days and start weaning him off the incubator. I'm hoping they'll let him come home in the next week or so, but we'll have to see.

His mom is home now, although we're watching her blood pressure closely. Her liver and kidney functions are back, after nearly failing a few days ago, but her blood pressure is still high. We'll let her rest and visit the little guy until they let him go.
