To answer your question: The reboot keeps me from getting more stories about the REAL DC characters. Whereas various women in Catwoman outfits only momentarily deprive you of the ability to keep your eyes in your head.

So really, what's the problem with the following people??

That's not cosplay, because it's for charity, nobody goes to a Convention dressed up as Batman for charity, they do it because they want to, to show off.

Most of these books feature beings with ridiculously impossible abilities, running around in silly Halloween costumes, spending vast amounts of time hitting equally ridiculous villains, if not each other.

We fans follow this material religiously. And most creators nowadays are themselves fans, who practically salivate at the prospect of creating these stories. Not to mention that their decisions when doing so often make little sense, if any.

This industry has no dignity.

That was not all for charity sometimes it is just to put a smile on some poor kids face.

Last convention I was at, and RU can back me up on this since he was with me there was a lot of families who got a big kick out of taking pictures of or with Cosplayers who really were very fun people. I understand you thinking people want to show off but it is also to be a part of the event and to interact with fans. Yes, there are those who make take it too far or trying to see how far of the boundaries can be stretched which can put a sour mark on Cosplayers in general but how has a cosplayer hurt you?

Dignity,for the most part, stopped existing in the comic industry somewhere in between the first crisis on Infinity Earth and the comic speculators craze and unlike a lot of stuff from the golden and silver age,it had not comeback.

So I guess I broke the Internet in half today . Lots of interesting commentary, to say the very least. Didn't realize that many people would care about one guys opinion. Also extremely savaged and humbled by the vicious response that went so far beyond any reason whatsoever, with personal attacks on my family, my sexual history, and accusations of advances being rebuffed cosplayers, which has never ever happened. My candor and my delivery of most things can be and usually is quite blunt. Can't help who I am,but what I'm not, and never have been is a misogynist or sexist or any number of things I was called. I have the utmost respect for all the women in my life from my mother, my sister, motherinlaw, my wife and wonderful 2 daughters. This is my final word on the subject so move on.

Did you go to Thought Bubble? There are conventions for big-boy comics where no one cosplays, you know. That being said, I like both kinds of conventions for different reasons, but when you consider the dominant subject matter and themes in superhero comics and anime...just saying...
