Same here. I read and enjoy more DC titles than I ever have from any other publisher.

Didio's a publisher and has had his share of good and bad decisions.

I feel that he blew through a lot of the goodwill built up in Infinite Crisis/52 era and turned DC into a creative mess.

However, he also found an inventive and bold way to get out of that mess and did so rather successfully.

I think that his Earth-One graphic novels were a smart business decision. I also think he's done a pretty solid job of handling the Before Watchmen situation, despite the irrevenancy of it all. There's a lot of talent attached to those books. They aren't mindless scrubs writing fill-ins.

I think that he's got a heavy-handed approach to editing and managing which rubs a lot of people the wrong day and has contributed to the talent disparity between Marvel and DC. However, he's also developed Snyder and Lemire, so he's obviously not pissing off everyone.

All in all, I think he's done alright. He's not perfect, he's made his shares of mistakes, but he's honestly looking for ways to engage the fanbase which is a good thing.

I'm buying a few DC titles now but I am kind of doing it out of habit. The titles are okay but I look forward to none of them.

I think it balances out at the end, but things like giving Rob Liefeld three books probably makes it seem worse than it is. :smt102

3 books that people wouldn't normally read, but will now because there are actually quite a few liefeld fans out there.

Marvel did the same thing with the onlsaught mini.

I disagree. Yes, I do acknowledge that Didio's era has its' share of bright spots, but like Quesada (especially after Jemas left), I feel that most of his bright spots happened in spite of his influence. As someone who became interested in DC, because of it's Legacy Character aspect and the Post-COIE Characters that came from that system, the Superhero side of DC is now almost completely devoid of heroes that I care enough about to follow on a monthly basis.

The Dark Line could've happened without getting rid of legacies.In fact, most of my DC Pull List for the past 4 years could've happened without the nostalgia love-in that's defined the DCU since Didio took over. Hence why I disagree with the OP.

I don't think its fair to say the failures are his fault but the successes are in-spite of him

even when NuDC was announced no one was all "sweet, a Deathstroke book!" and the sales reflected that
give him a little corner to work in, let his fans spend their money on books no one wanted to begin with
DC makes money they can spend on keeping Scott Snyder, you don't lose sleep over Liefeld on a character you care about, and we get more images to make fun of
