But (speaking of vertigo) you wouldn't see a comic book like Preacher at the new marvel.
And a mature movie is one thing; movies aren't viewed by the community as being for children, comics are. We've already seen them cave into movie and tv complaints in the past; you think they won't cave to them about comicbooks when they are viewed as being for children by and large?
Tough to tell. I don't think DC, and by extension, Warner Bros. would be any more willing to take on the religous nuts over a comic.
Think about it, what was the readership on Preacher? And not just the final issue, but on a general issue of the book.
Why would you risk bad press over a book that sells thousands a month over your movies that make millions in weeks.
I get what you're saying, but I don't see much changing with Disney at the helm with regards to the comics. Like I said, I only see Marvel putting out more books since they will now be able to take more chances with greater financial backing.
The quality of those books, I cannot speak for.
