This ep was full of great character moments and served the overall story arc well but the episode centric plot was basically a load of ass.

I'll post on the con tomorrow or the next day, still a bit overwhelmed.

As for this story? Balls. Afew things:

1. Souls again? UGH last week why was it computers taking souls? Why not minds? And this week souls again. Annoying and takes me out of the story.

2. The little kid annoyed me.

3. I'm sick sick SICK of the Doctor using the Sonic for everything UGH Smith needs to meet a Terileptil.

4. How did Clara know how to use a space scooter moped thing?

I liked the Clara back story stuff though.

i havent seen the ep's in over a decade, but didn't the screwdriver inexplicably disappear somewhere during the classic run of episodes? they won't get rid of it though, it's supposed to be a big merchandise moneymaker.

A Terileptil destroyed it in the Visitation, even before then he rarely used it.

Yeah, take away his screwdriver and suddenly he'd be not so successful.

Then they can give him a gun. A sonic gun.

Eh...there were things I liked and things I didn't like. Mostly I was just staring at Jenna the whole time, the rest of the episode was a bit of a blur to me. Some points about things I did notice:

-The main problem was that the characters spent a lot of time describing the themes when the writer (the Luther guy, right?) should have found ways to dramatise and visualise them instead. In several places he did exactly that and then still had the characters go on and on about it even though we can see it all with our own eyes. It made it slightly tedious.

-There were some obvious plot holes, as well. For instance, Clara gives up her important ring to by a space-moped so they can save the sacrifice girl. Why? Use the TARDIS.

-Interesting that the TARDIS doesn't like Clara. Wonder where they're going with that.

-I liked that the Doctor looked genuinely intimidated by having to fight Mogo. That was quite funny.

She is a chronal anomaly. She should not exist, because as the Doctor told Mary.. there can only ever be one of a person in all of time and space, and this is now the third version of Clara he has met.

Last episode he was against using the TARDIS. Maybe he's paranoid this season (especially with an anomaly on board)

I don't remember that. Last episode he hopped onto a plane in it and then skipped ahead to the next morning just to keep his enemies up all night so they'd be exhausted.
