Hmmmmm, only 12 episodes in total possibly. If this is true, that would make his period as the Doctor the shortest wouldn't it.

Well, apart from McGann.

That article is not only spectacularly vague, it's also from the Daily Express - a paper that is pretty much always 100% wrong about everything.

Technically, McGann's is the longest, since due to the series' long hiatus, he was the current Doctor for more than a decade.

But more seriously, yeah, I don't see any actor beating McGann's short run as the Doctor.

You seemed to be a little down in the mouth on it. I wanted you to cheer up. :-D

Thanks, but no need to do that, I'm not down in the mouth about it. If it's true, it is what it is. I've been a fan long enough that changes in who plays the Doctor don't really phase me.

Fixed!

From what I understand though, he's done more audio dramas then any other and been in more comics then any other to date.
We only got screwed on the film numbers.

I keep wondering though, is the lack of McGann in the 50th something to do with ownership of his version?

I've been a fan since Pertwee was the Doctor and I still get a mix of joy and depression with the changes.

Each is sad as we see a Doctor go, but we get a new one to enjoy.

Yeah this is true from what I understand. If you throw every Doctor Who story done in every medium together, McGann's Doctor has been in more stories than any other incarnation of the character.

I keep wondering though, is the lack of McGann in the 50th something to do with ownership of his version?

They've had McGann appear in the current series. Remember Smith's first episode as the Doctor when they showed flashes of all the past incarnations.

Yes, I recall those and the ones with Tenant, but I still wonder why McGann is not appearing in the 50th and could only come to that conclusion. Eccleston we know wants nothing more to do with Dr Who, but McGann has said he'd love to appear, so...

Until Day of the Doctor airs, I'm not unconvinced that there aren't some secret surprises.

It's possible that McGann's Doctor will be there, just not McGann. There are incarnations of the Doctor that were shown in the trailer who won't be played by the actual actors due to various reasons.

Exactly, I'm sure that we'll see all of the past incarnatons in the 50th Anniversary special, in some fashion at least.
