Like I said, I think Nolan probably has complete control.

I'm still surprised how Anne Hathaway isn't a "big" name.

I mean I understand how in Jon's eyes she's not but the rest of America, she's become a pretty big name in her career choices. :smt102

JGL isn't as big but with a movie like brick he gained a pretty big cult audience and was the biggest supporting character/fan favorite inside of Inception. :smt102

You're telling me you believe that Hathaway is a huge box office draw? If you believe so, then fine, but I doubt that many people would agree.

And I acknowledged that JGL had a following, but he's not a big draw either.

Let's put it this way, Ryan Reynolds is a gigantic draw compared to these two, and he's not even that big a draw as his movies have proven.

I'm talking about getting a huge name, and I am a little surprised that WB didn't insist on one considering how huge a franchise this is for them. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just a curious decision. I think you're allowing your man-love of JGL color your perceptions.

Tom Hardy is becoming quite a big name. He is showing up in a lot of movies lately.

Yeah, but nobody has ever said to themselves "oh, you know, I am gonna go see that new Tom Hardy movie."

I can see Jon's logic there, I just can't see the logic behind why he thinks it needs one.

You know what the box office draw is, Jon? It's a sequel to one of the biggest grossing films of all time. You don't need to add Tom Cruise or Will Ferrel, with their huge price tags, to the mix.

Jon's just pissed Nolan didn't bring in a "big name" like Schwarzenegger to fill a roll like Mr. Freeze since that did so well the first time.

I think I said that it might not need one, but we'll see how it does. Again, I don't see it surpassing the Dark Knight.

Perhaps, but I don't know that not surpassing the number 3 box office gross of all time is a mark of failure...

How many is "many" in this case ?

It may be if your competition just took over that spot.

I think you guys aren't differentiating between domestic and worldwide. Dark Knight is #3 domestic and #12 worldwide. Avengers is #4 both domestic and worldwide.
